In December 2006 the VCF became the first community foundation to co-file a shareholder resolution and submitted The Diversity on the Board of Directors proposal to Bed Bath & Beyond for inclusion in its annual proxy statement. BBB has since changed its process for selecting board members, interviewed a set of diverse candidates for the board, and on May 22^nd announced the election of Mr. Patrick Gaston to their board, expanding it to eleven members. In light of these developments, the Diversity on the Board of Directors proposal was withdrawn earlier this month.
