GREEN MOUNTAIN FUND
The Green Mountain Fund was established at the VCF to support charitable activities with a special interest in education, children, and families of Lamoille County. Grants from the Green Mountain Fund generally fall in the range of $500 to $5,000. The fund is interested in opportunities where a modest grant will have impact by leveraging a new idea or other dollars, or by making possible something that will benefit the children and families of Lamoille County. In general, the fund is not interested in supporting capital campaigns, normal operating expenses or deficit funding. However, occasional exceptions are made for special projects.

Categories of support for the Green Mountain Fund include, but are not limited to: children, elderly and family services.

We will accept requests for operating support under certain circumstances:

  • compelling circumstance that would be effectively addressed by a one-year operating grant;
  • the positive impact that a one-time operating grant will have on the organization;
  • reasonable funding plan following one-year VCF grant

For grants under $2,500:
The Green Mountain Fund also makes modest grants to schools or organizations which provide educational and enriching activities for children and families. Applications are accepted to support programs that will provide opportunities for children to keep busy after school, as well as enrich their school day. Funding will be considered for such things as special trips, projects, athletics, and equipment purchases for a project or program. In an effort to facilitate the application process for these grants, a simplified one page application form has been designed. Requests for grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 will be considered. Please submit an original and one copy.
