Vermont Local Food and Farms Fund
Given the momentum around food issues in the state and the success of the Food Funders Network, the Vermont Community Foundation established this fund to help:
1. Increase access to local affordable food for all Vermonters by:
- Supporting the work of existing and emerging Vermont Food Centers
- Bringing local food to Vermont schools and institutions
- Creating community gardens throughout Vermont
- Supporting the work of the Vermont Food Bank and local food shelves
2. Develop a stronger infrastructure for our food system by:
- Supporting efforts to provide technical assistance directly to farmers and emerging and existing businesses
- Exploring shared facilities and systems
- Supporting research to create a statewide strategic plan set of indicators to monitor success and economic impact
