The Vermont Community Foundation Privacy Policy
At the Vermont Community Foundation, we provide individuals with a variety of administrative and financial services designed to assist their philanthropy. In the process of providing these services, the Foundation collects nonpublic personal information about individual donors and beneficiaries.
We have always highly valued our donors’ right to privacy, and we will continue to protect their confidentiality by abiding by our strict code of ethics. The purpose of this policy is to inform you of the type of information we collect about you and how we use that information.
What types of information does the Foundation collect?
• Information necessary to set up and maintain your account in connection with providing gift annuity and trust administration services, such as your name, address, social security number, date of birth, account holdings, and electronic banking information.
• Information about your financial holdings and objectives which is necessary to help you structure your philanthropy in the most appropriate manner.
Will you disclose my personal information with other companies?
We will disclose your nonpublic personal information only when that information is necessary to carry out the services we need to properly administer your account, for example, accountants and custodians. We will not share your email address with any other individuals or organizations.
How does the Foundation protect the security of current and former clients?
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees and service providers (like accountants and custodians) who need to know that information in order for us to carry out our administration services. We also maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards in order to guard your nonpublic personal information.
